  • Substance exposed newborns and their mothers will be able to access and receive more resources and support from Social Services (SB1086)

Addressing the School-to-Prison Pipeline

  • School administrations will consider alternatives to suspension before suspending their students (SB829)

Establishing a civil cause of action for “revenge porn” victims

  • Victims of revenge porn or surreptitious photos or videos will now be able to sue their perpetrator for compensatory damages, punitive damages, and attorney’s fees and costs (SB1210)

Promoting Solar Energy

  • Small progress was made toward expanding consumers’ access to community solar energy in Virginia (SB1208)

Improving customer service at the DMV

  • Allows the DMV to extend validity period of licenses, conduct additional services online, and digitally verify the authenticity of Virginia driver’s licenses (SB1085)
